The reasons why we love living in Missoula are endless, but the history and the community are definitely at the top of our list. There are so many wonderful locally owned businesses around student apartments in Missoula and for this blog, we wanted to share some of our favorites.
Shopping at a local business is a wonderful way to support your community and everyone that helps make it so great. We all need our Starbucks fix every now and then, but there’s something special about visiting a local shop — the atmosphere is something you just won’t be able to find anywhere else. The places we’re highlighting in today’s blog are the cornerstones of Missoula, and we guarantee you’ll love them.

You can’t have a list of favorite Missoula businesses and not include Paul’s Pancakes. This family-owned shop has been flipping flapjacks since 1963. Their large portions and awesome price points make it the perfect spot for college students. Taste your way through their eighteen flavors of pancakes or mix it up with an omelet. They’re open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner so a good meal is never out of reach here.
Did you know Missoula is home to some of the best ice cream in the country? Big Dipper Ice Cream has been named on several “Best Of” lists and was even featured on Good Morning America! With plenty of hand-crafted flavors to choose from, Big Dipper is the perfect place to get your sugar fix. Follow them on Facebook or Twitter to keep up with their seasonal flavors.

For our residents who are 21 and older, you have to check out the amazing craft breweries that call Missoula home. Each one offers a fun, relaxed atmosphere perfect for hanging out with friends and taking a break from studying. These four that are only a short walk from student apartments in Missoula:
